Results and Analysis
There are three (or four if you count failure) possible results for this lab. They are: heterozygous, homozygous positive, and homozygous negative. Your genotype is determined by your parents' genotype. For example, if both of your parents are homozygous positive, your genotype will be homozygous positive. Or, if one of your parents is homozygous positive and the other is homozygous negative, your genotype will be heterozygous. My genotype for the alu locus is homozygous negative. The evidence lies in the band at the 415 base pair marker. Because I my genotype is homozygous negative, this means that my parents were most likely both homozygous negative, or one of my parents was heterozygous.
