Reflection of Unit
This first unit was very exciting and informative. I learned a lot about the different anatomies of organisms, and I was able to develop a better understanding of evolution through selection processes. The main things I learned are that evolution by selection processes is what led to the biodiversity of the planet, that humans and all other organisms on Earth share a common ancestor, and that mutations in the genotype affect what will change in the phenotypes of the organisms. My group and I worked very well. We were able to divide tasks efficiently and help each other comprehend the material. But, throughout the unit, we did like to converse and sometimes we would not stay in our group. I really liked my group in this unit; it was composed of very kind and assiduous students. I also enjoyed the dissections very much. If I could improve something in this unit, it would be being at school more (I missed a few days) to learn and keeping on task the whole period. A couple things I did not like about the unit were the extensive note-taking sessions and some of the more repetitive assignments. This unit was an awesome experience, and I cannot wait to see what the rest of the year has in store.
