Project History
This project was very rigorous in the introduction of electricity. For the first couple of weeks, our groups had to complete a packet that would soon inform us about all the elementary principles of electricity and circuits. As we progressed in the experiments that we would conduct, we would learn about more advanced topics such as calculating the amount of current and voltage going through circuits. We learned about Ohm's and Kirchhoff's Laws to make these calculations. Our groups utilized ammeters, breadboards, voltmeters, alligator clips, batteries, and light bulbs to learn about circuits.
Next, we moved onto programming. We learned how to program certain functions using Arduino circuit boards to make a light show. Using the connections and the Arduino sketchbook, we educated ourselves on how to set up variables to help make coding easier. After this, we had to move onto making a robot show either with lights, or buzzers. My group chose to make a light show with different patterns of lights turning on and off in sync with the song "Seven Nation Army," by the White Stripes. We were able to code the light show up to the end of the first chorus of the song. And our code was so in sync with the song that it actually worked up until the end of the second chorus. I am very proud of my work in this project.
