Reflection
Looking back on the project, I have been not only educated in the art of simple machines, forces, changes in energy, velocity, and acceleration as well as other physics and engineering concepts, but I have also learned about how I function in a group for a prolonged time period. I acquired more experience in group work and am a better scholar because of it. Some examples of the skills I obtained include improved dynamism along with increased administration. The month that I spent working with my colleagues was well spent; it was very productive and stronger bonds between friends were made. But, as with any activity, if I did it again, I believe my group could do an even better job.
Two areas that I personally feel I achieved in are in my leadership and in my action-taking. By the end of the month, my group was in danger of entering the Presentation Night with an unfinished project. Fearing a bad grade and embarrassment, I quickly intervened an took hold of some of the construction and calculation aspects of the assignment. Although, I know I could also improve a couple areas of my group work. I have learned that I need to be more empathetic and compassionate towards my associates. I know that when I did take hold, I worked with a stonewall demeanor. I also am in need of maturity in my facilitation sphere. As I said, I just need a more kind disposition towards others.
In conclusion, this enterprise was an amazing source of new information. I enjoyed working with my group very much and I feel I grew as a new physicist and engineer. I loved building the machine and exploring the physics behind the machine. If these are the activities that STEM offers, I know I am in for an astounding year!
